Kim Lawson, Owner
Kim is the owner of Fishpaws Marketplace and is responsible for all the day-to-day
operations of the business. She practically cut her eyeteeth on the liquor and wine industry.
(Her father has been in the business for over 40 years). Kim grew up experiencing her
family’s European attitude towards wine; that wine is a beverage to be consumed with
food, an adjunct and a complement to any meal. During her 20 years at Fishpaws, Kim
has traveled throughout the wine regions of California, and the East Coast and attended
Vin Expo in Bordeaux. She has attended many classes and seminars on wine and has
educated and refined her palate with extensive tasting of all types of wines from all over the
world. Kim has even taught a class on wine at a local college. Kim is a principal member
of Fishpaws wine tasting team (all wines are tasted before being selected for Fishpaws
inventory), but her personal passion is customer service and special orders. Kim is
dedicated to having the best customer service possible. If you are looking for a wine that
you can’t find in our catalogue, she will do her best to find it for you. At Fishpaws, special
orders aren’t special, they are part of the finest customer service.
It is no wonder that Kim was selected as Retailer of The Year by The National Association
of Beverage Retailers.
Nat Scott- Wine Manager
Fishpaws Marketplace is proud to welcome Nat Scott as the newest member of our family!
Nat is a native to Norfolk, Virginia, but relocated to Maryland in 1996. After studying at both
Salem State University and Loyola College, Nat realized that his true passion was the
hospitality industry and promptly switched his career focus to food and beverage service.
After working at the Treaty of Paris for 12 years and developing their extensive wine list, Nat
moved on to Yin Yankee where he assisted in the relaunch of this down town landmark
under its’ new ownership. From there Nat found himself as the lead bartender at the
Westin Annapolis, where his major functions were to invent new cocktails and purchase
the wines for their extensive banquet business. During all of this time Nat was completing
his Sommelier training through the International Sommelier Guild’s certification program.
Having completed all three levels of courses Nat is now a proud Certified Sommelier and
is equally proud to call himself the Wine Manager for our store.
Angela DiCenzo-Liquor Manager
Next time you are looking for that hard to find bottle of goodness make sure to track down
our Liquor Manager Angela. As a young woman Angela worked as everything from a
runway model to a Pit Boss for a casino. Her favorite memories however were of her time
in the restaurant industry where she acted as a server, bartender, and bar manager all over
the country. Locally Angela served as the bar manager for Clark’s Saloon right here in
Severna Park for 7 years before she headed over to Carroll’s Creek in Eastport where she
served as their beverage manager for 13 years. Angela and her husband of 22 years are
avid sailors but when they aren’t out to sea Angela can commonly be found tending her
garden or enjoying a dirty martini. As the Liquor Manager for Fishpaws it falls to Angela to
keep the shelves well stocked with all your favorites and to seek out all the new products
you don’t even know you love yet. “The beverage industry has always felt like home to me”,
says Angela, and we encourage all of you to stop by and say, “Welcome Home” the next
time you are in the area.
Dawn Lawson- Deli Manager
After 27 years in the hospitality industry, running everything from fine dinning, to short order
truck stops Dawn Lawson is proud to finally say she is home. Fishpaws is proud to say
that we are that home. Dawn was born in Washington DC and has lived up and down the
east coast. Dawn attended and graduated from Prince Georges County Community
College, and from the Fleet Business Academy in Annapolis with degrees in Business and
Travel. Dawn has a passion for down home southern cuisine as inspired by her 10 years
in South Carolina. More recently Dawn has discovered a passion for gourmet cheeses and
beer, spirits and food pairings, as evidenced by her great pairings at our in store tastings.
Dawn brings years of experience to our deli and wonderful meals to your home, so the next
time you stop by make sure to say, “Hi” and ask “What’s cooking?”
